It’s done…it’s been manufactured into beautiful gatefold CD wallets, with yet more glorious artwork by Expanded Eye.
So we are going to have a party. And some other mini parties to celebrate (street shows in unusual places around London).
But the big’un is at Rich Mix, in East London, on 12th May. You can grab tickets here
We do hope you can come and celebrate this milestone with us. We are so proud of this album!
It was recorded at The Premises (solar-powered) studio, and mastered by the legendary Mandy Parnell (Bjork, Dirty Projectors) at Black Saloon Studios. It’s a beautiful monster.
You can pick up signed copies of it on the night, well in advance of the official release date on June 3rd.
Or if you can’t make it, you can pre-order a signed copy here (and peruse the art work)…
ONWARDS! WE TRUDGE THROUGH THE GLITTERING GLORIOUS MUD!
We are extremely chuffed (to say the least) that Perhaps Contraption has been awarded the highest grant possible for the Musicians Benevolent Fund Emerging Excellence Award.
You can read the full press release and see other artists included in the award here…
The award will go towards funding our biggest (and most technically challenging) project ever…
We are making a video for our next single, Perambulations, and the process will be a collaboration with 3 experts of Corporeal Mime, 3 Contemporary Dancers from the People Pile and incredible Lighting Designer Anna Barrett. We are shooting in a state of the art theatre, and the piece will feature lots of intricate choreography and Lighting.
The song itself, is a pumping, relentless monster, that we are itching to unveil. (if you have seen us live recently, you will have heard this thing, nascent and loud).
Rehearsals begin in earnest this weekend, the shoot is looming.
We are very, very excited. More information soon…
We done a cover. It’s Radiohead’s mighty National Anthem and we rather like playing it. If you would like to listen to it and keep it forever as an .mp3 you can go our music page to grab it.
It’s the next slice from our next album Listening Bones which is officially out on November 3rd 2012. We are celebrating with a little part on the said date at Passing Clouds, London.
With beautiful artwork by Jade from http://expanded-eye.blogspot.co.uk/
Behold! The beautiful new artwork created by Jade Tomlinson of Expanded Eye.
If you download the album direct from our Bandcamp, each song will be encoded with the corresponding artwork and lyrics…making a beautiful visual accompaniment to the sounds. Pre orders are soon to be live, with the official release looming in October….
Our next single will be released on 11th February 2012 as a download, alongside a limited run of posters containing the single artwork. Each poster will feature a unique, hand drawn embellishment by the artist, Squier Squier.
The launch party takes place at an amazing cosy venue on Saturday 11th February 2012 at the Servant Jazz Quarters, 10a Bradbury Street, Dalston, N16 8JN from 20:00.
The nearest overground is Dalston Kingsland / Junction and is also served by loads of buses. This day also happens to be Squier’s birthday so wear a tie.
Support comes from the incredible Goodbye Leopold; lush, ethereal, 3 part accapella and choreography. Very special indeed.
More acts TBC.
Jeff the Chameleon will also be there. Yes, a real live chameleon!
We will also be projecting things, including the amazing new video for the single; which includes a psychedelic insect menagerie! Gasp indeed. Millipedes and Domino Beetles ahoy.
Previews for the single & video are coming very soon…
Happy nish nish from all the Pertraptions. xxx
